NORTH GWINNETT LACROSSE ASSOCIATION
About Us
North Gwinnett Lacrosse Association
The sport of Lacrosse has gained popularity over the past few years, not only in Gwinnett County, but all across the United States. The mission of the North Gwinnett Lacrosse Association is to provide a well-rounded lacrosse program for elementary and middle school boys and girls. The NGLA will endeavor to establish, in our youth, the ideals of good sportsmanship and conduct. We aim to provide an enjoyable means of developing the fundamental life skills of leadership, self-discipline, team play, camaraderie and educational values. Through this great sport, our many coaches and volunteers will promote both physical and mental well being in a safe and enjoyable environment. We thank you for giving us the opportunity to be a small part in the development of your child’s development and growth.

Code of Conduct
The North Gwinnett Lacrosse Program and the Newtown Rec League believe that sportsmanship and fair play are imperative to the success of our sport. This begins at the top from our Board, Commissioners, and on down to our Coaches, Parents, and Players. Everyone must agree to the Parent Code of Conduct during the Registration process, and it is included below as a reminder for the season. Please pay attention to #2 and #3."Be respectful” as our Program will not tolerate disrespectful behavior or negative comments towards referees, coaches, teammates, or the opposing team. Officials will make mistakes and missed calls happen during every game, both for and against both teams. Referees do their best to get the calls correct, and we need to respect their decisions as both Coaches and Parents. While we all strive to win each game, please remember that youth sports are not just about competition and winning; as physical activity, skill improvement, fun and camaraderie also play a big part as to why our players and coaches do their very best on the field each week participating in this exciting sport of lacrosse.
-
Teach and practice good sportsmanship at all games and practices. You are role models!
-
Be respectful of all officials’ decisions.
-
Do not coach your child or other teammates. Let players play and coaches coach, and support both positively.
-
Emphasize the FUN of the game and the team, always putting forth effort, not wins and losses.
-
Show respect for the opposing players, coaches, spectators, and support groups.
-
Weigh what my child says in any controversy, and work with coaches and/or the NGLA gather all the facts.
-
Respect the coaches who are all volunteers and follow the designated chain of command to resolve any issues or concerns. The program chain of command:
Coach –> Program Commissioners –> NGLA Board
