NGLA Zero Commitment
Try It Free

Try Lacrosse. Zero Risk. Zero Cost. Zero Gear Needed.

Your kid does not need experience. You do not need to buy anything. Just show up to a free clinic with cleats and a water bottle. We handle the rest.

Three Steps

How It Works

We removed every obstacle between your kid and the field. Here is the entire process.

1

Fill out the free clinic form. We will confirm your spot and send you everything you need to know — date, time, location, and what to bring (hint: almost nothing).

2

Show Up

We provide loaner gear — helmet, stick, pads, gloves, everything. Your kid just needs cleats and a water bottle. That is it. No shopping required.

3

Decide

No pressure. If your kid loves it, register for the season. If not, no hard feelings. We would rather your family try it and know than wonder what if.

Loaner Gear

Don't Buy Anything Yet.

Lacrosse gear can feel intimidating when you are new to the sport. Helmets, sticks, pads, gloves — it adds up. That is exactly why NGLA maintains a full loaner gear inventory for families who are just getting started.

We have equipment for boys and girls of every age group. Every piece is sanitized and inspected before it goes out. Your kid will be fully equipped from head to toe — at no cost to you.

Loaner gear is available for free clinics and for the first few weeks of the season. That gives your family time to decide if lacrosse is the right fit before spending a dollar on equipment.

Our advice: don't buy anything until your kid decides they love it.

What We Lend

  • Helmets (boys) / Goggles (girls)
  • Lacrosse sticks (boys and girls)
  • Shoulder pads and arm guards (boys)
  • Gloves (boys)
  • Mouthguards

What You Bring

Cleats (soccer or football cleats work fine), a water bottle, and your kid. That is the complete list.

Our Promise

The cost should never be the reason your kid doesn't play.

Lacrosse has a reputation as an expensive sport. We are working to change that — starting right here in Suwanee, GA.

What Is Available

  • Need-based financial assistance — NGLA offers scholarships for families who need help with registration fees
  • Multi-child discounts — families with multiple players get a break on registration
  • US Lacrosse grants — first-time players may qualify for national grants that cover membership and registration
  • Loaner gear program — free equipment means zero upfront gear costs
Scholarships & Aid

Lacrosse Should Be Accessible.

NGLA is a volunteer-run, community-based program. We keep registration fees as low as we can — and for families who need additional help, we offer need-based financial assistance. No family has ever been turned away from NGLA for financial reasons.

Scholarship applications are handled with complete confidentiality. There are no public announcements, no awkward conversations, and no judgment. Just a simple form that goes directly to our board.

US Lacrosse also offers grants specifically designed to help first-time players cover membership and registration costs. We can help you navigate that process.

If cost is on your mind, reach out. We will figure it out together.

Bring a Friend

Everything Is Better With a Buddy.

Kids are more likely to stick with a new sport when they try it with someone they know. That is why we make it easy to bring a friend along.

🤝

Free Clinics — Bring Anyone

Bring a friend to any free clinic. They do not need to register separately or sign up in advance — just show up together. We will have loaner gear for them too.

🏃

During the Season — Invite a Guest

Registered players can invite a friend to attend a practice any time during the season. It is the best way for curious families to see what NGLA is really like — from the inside.

🏅

No Experience Required

The friend does not need any lacrosse experience. We group players by age and ability, and our coaches are trained to welcome beginners at every level.

💬

The Best Recruiting Tool in Lacrosse

Is a kid who loves it telling their friend. That is how most of our families found us. Word of mouth from a teammate's parent, or a kid who could not stop talking about practice.

What Happens

What to Expect at a Free Clinic

A free clinic is a low-key, high-energy introduction to the sport. There is no tryout, no evaluation, and no commitment. The entire purpose is for your kid to pick up a stick, run around, and see if lacrosse clicks.

Sessions run 60 to 90 minutes. Players are grouped by age — K-2, 3rd-5th, and 6th-8th — so every kid works with peers at their level. Our certified NGLA coaches run the show with the same energy they bring to practices all season.

Parents are welcome to watch from the sideline. Bring a chair, ask questions, and talk with other NGLA families. It is the best way to get a feel for the program without any formality.

Clinic Rundown

  • 60+ 60-90 minute session — long enough to learn, short enough to keep it fun
  • Basic stick skills — catching, throwing, scooping ground balls
  • Fun games and scrimmages — not drills all day, actual play
  • Age-appropriate groups — K-2, 3rd-5th, and 6th-8th grade
  • NGLA certified coaches — the same coaches who run our season programs
  • Sideline access for parents — watch, ask questions, meet other families

What Happens After the Clinic?

Nothing, unless you want it to. If your kid had a blast and wants to play, you can register for the season right away. If they need time to think about it, take all the time you need. If they decided lacrosse is not their thing, that is completely fine too. No follow-up sales pitch. No pressure.

Questions

Families Ask. We Answer.

What if my kid has never played any sport?

That is completely fine. Many of our players picked up a lacrosse stick for the first time at an NGLA clinic. Our coaches are experienced at working with total beginners. Lacrosse is actually a great first sport — it builds coordination, agility, and teamwork from day one.

Do I need to buy gear before the clinic?

No. Do not buy anything. We provide a full set of loaner gear for every clinic participant — helmet, stick, pads, and gloves. All your kid needs is cleats (soccer or football cleats work) and a water bottle.

What ages can participate?

NGLA serves boys and girls from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Free clinics are open to all ages in that range. Players are grouped by age during the clinic so every kid works with peers at their level.

How do I apply for financial assistance?

Email us at info@northlax.com or use the contact form and mention financial assistance. Everything is handled confidentially. No family has been turned away from NGLA for financial reasons, and we intend to keep it that way.

Can siblings try at the same time?

Absolutely. Bring the whole crew. Siblings will be grouped with their age group, and we will have loaner gear for each of them. Families with multiple players also qualify for multi-child registration discounts.

What if we miss the free clinic?

Reach out anyway. We can often arrange for your kid to attend a regular practice as a guest — with full loaner gear. We never want a scheduling conflict to be the reason a kid does not get to try lacrosse.
